Provo, UT—January 25, 2024

Angel Studios—the platform empowering creators to crowdfund, create, and then distribute films and TV series globally—is announcing the appointment of Ryan Svendsen as Head of Music.

Svendsen will join Angel’s Global Distribution team helmed by Chief Distribution Officer Jared Geesey. “Ryan has profound music industry experience, connections, and a robust understanding of how important music is to our creator’s stories to amplify light. We’re thrilled to have Ryan on our team,” said Geesey.

In this newly created role, Svendsen will lead music strategy, creative, licensing, production, and partnerships for Angel Studios scores, songs, and soundtracks.

Svendsen will establish strategies for Angel Studios which support the music needs of its creative properties, and generate opportunities to leverage the body of musical works developed within Angel Studios’ projects. He will also take the lead in helping attract musical talent to work on Angel Studios properties to ensure the studio has captivating music incorporated into its distributed content.

Svendsen previously held the title of Head of Music at Millennium Media where he oversaw and music supervised “EXPEND4BLES,” “THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD,” “THE BRICKLAYER,” “TILL DEATH,” “THE PIPER,” “JOLT” and “THE PROTEGE”. Before Millennium, Svendsen was Director of Film and TV Music at Lionsgate, where he spearheaded the release of over 80 soundtracks including the Academy Award-winning best song and score for LA LA LAND. In addition to teaching Music Supervision at UCLA Extension and being the Inaugural Chair of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music Alumni Board, Svendsen is also a recording musician. Svendsen has been credited as a Trumpet player for the 6x platinum Billboard charting song “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X feat. Jack Harlow in addition to the top 20 billboard charting song “Lil Boo Thang” by Paul Russell.

Svendsen expressed his excitement about the new role: "While simultaneously welcoming content creators with open arms, Angel Studios is at the forefront of technology and innovation. There are so many wonderful musical talents who are ready and willing to creatively align with our mission. I look forward to connecting the dots in making these meaningful moments happen for our content creators and viewers.”

Angels Studios' distribution team is responsible for global theatrical, digital, television, physical media, music, and ancillary distribution plus licensing of all Angel Studios' uniquely crowd-selected, and crowd-owned content. Its next wide release – in theaters March 8th nationwide - is the inspiring true story of CABRINI.
